What happens

Jim Anderson resolves to never lose his temper in the coming year, but on New Year's Eve his household and the day's errands conspire against him. His wife Margaret tries to share a silly tongue-twister her grandmother used to recite, while the children Betty, Bud and Kathy each press their own demands. At the office, insurance client Mr. Gribble keeps him waiting all day without apology. The episode is part of the Father Knows Best series and aired on December 29, 1949, starring Robert Young.

Characters: Jim Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Betty Anderson, Bud Anderson, Kathy Anderson, Mr. Gribble, Billy Smith, Heck Hathaway

Listen for: Jim's repeated attempts to recite the hot and tat tongue-twister, and his reactions to the family's mishaps

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
