What happens
Jim Anderson, the father in the Anderson household on Maple Street in Springfield, learns that his in-laws are moving to Omaha and need the family to sort through items stored in their Toledo basement. He decides his wife Margaret should make the trip alone to build her self-reliance. Meanwhile the children pursue their own schemes, including a proposed summer voyage to Paris on a cattle boat and a hair-growing tonic. Once Margaret leaves, Jim takes charge of running the house, and the household quickly falls into disorder. This episode of Father Knows Best, starring Robert Young, aired on May 15, 1952.
