What happens

Bud Anderson, a young boy in the Anderson household, decides to start his own business raising Panama cats after a businessman named Mr. Sprott sells him on the idea. Bud asks his father, Jim Anderson, for a $25 loan to buy his first pair, and Jim, skeptical of the scheme's arithmetic, refuses. The family reacts to Bud's plans, and Bud presses ahead with the venture despite his parents' doubts. The episode is from the Father Knows Best series, first aired on April 2, 1953, starring Robert Young as Jim Anderson. Bud's business plans and the family's reactions are central to the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
