What happens
Jim Anderson, a Springfield insurance manager, comes down with a cold and decides he wants nothing but peace and quiet. His wife Margaret tries to care for him, but his children, Betty, Bud and Kathy, keep making noise, and visiting neighbors fuss over him with remedies he does not want. Jim's pleas for rest keep getting interrupted as the household's small frictions build up around his bed. The episode is a comic family story in the Father Knows Best series, first broadcast on December 14, 1950, starring Robert Young as Jim.
The Anderson home on Maple Street in Springfield, and later Jim's office at the Cavalier Life and Casualty Company.

Listen for: Jim repeatedly begging everyone to leave him alone to rest, and the neighbors' competing home remedies.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
