What happens
Father Knows Best follows the Anderson family in this 1952 episode, first broadcast on December 11, 1952. Jim Anderson has lectured his children on volunteering for civic duties, and they take him at his word. Kathy gives away Jim's old suit to a needy family, and Bud volunteers his father to head the entertainment for the junior high school hijinks. Betty, meanwhile, finds herself listed as a witness to a car collision on Oak Street, and she is unsure what she actually saw. The story keeps returning to the consequences of their eagerness to help.

Characters: Jim Anderson, Margaret Anderson, Betty Anderson, Bud Anderson, Kathy Anderson, Bob Reynolds, Mrs. Paisley
Listen for: Jim's lecture on citizenship, Kathy's donation of his suit, and Betty's account of the car accident on Oak Street
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
