What happens
Jim Anderson, a Springfield insurance man, decides his wife Margaret needs a housekeeper and hires Mrs. Collins without consulting her. Margaret is unhappy with the arrangement, and Mrs. Collins soon begins giving orders to the whole household. Jim hopes the housekeeper will impress Harry and Grace Edwards, who are coming to dinner, because a seat on the Chamber of Commerce board may depend on it. The episode is from Father Knows Best, a radio series first broadcast on June 22, 1950, and starring Robert Young as Jim Anderson.
