What happens

Captain Remington and his mate Hacker sail a schooner into the reef-ringed waters of Owanatu, where the channel seems to have been opened by a hidden floodgate. A resident named Jerome welcomes them and invites them to dinner, but his manner is courteous and watchful. Remington is drawn to Jerome's daughter Mikaela, who has grown up on the island and seems to know little of the outside world. The men soon learn that Jerome controls the island through armed guards and a native workforce held against its will. Remington must decide how to deal with a host who holds all the power.

A remote South Pacific island called Owanatu, guarded by a reef and a floodgate, in the era of sailing ships and colonial-era control.

Characters: Remington, Hacker, Jerome, Mikaela, Scipper

Listen for: Jerome's courteous but menacing dinner conversation with Remington about the island and the schooner's history.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
