What happens
Stephen Loring travels to Mandalay to meet Campbell, a government clerk and historical society researcher who has sent a strange letter about the evil eye. Campbell has gone to Pugan, a region of ancient pagodas and shrines, and Loring is drawn to a mysterious woman named Gina at his hotel. Loring agrees to travel to Pugan with a loyal Burmese companion, Mungba, and finds the village frightened and hostile. Campbell's hut holds his disturbing papers and strange symbols. The episode is a 1954 installment of the Escape series, first broadcast on July 17, 1954, and is part of an adventure-style program with an ominous tone.
