What happens
Ned and Debbie live in a farmhouse on the southern coast of England in autumn, where Ned works on a nearby farm. One night, birds attack the family inside their cottage, and the next morning a radio broadcast reports that birds are migrating south in huge numbers and attacking people. Ned tries to warn the neighbors, but they dismiss his account. The attacks continue, and the family struggles to find food and keep the birds out of the house. This Escape episode, based on Daphne du Maurier's story The Birds, is adapted for radio by Robert Wright and directed by Norman Macdonald. It stars Ben Wright and Virginia Gregg, with John Dehner and Jack Moyles also in the cast.

Listen for: The sudden bird attacks on the cottage, the broadcast warnings from the wireless, and the growing sounds of the birds pressing against the house
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
