What happens
In the Pyrenees, Alan and his wife Joyce arrive at a remote mountain village in Andorra after a frightening episode in which Joyce attacked Alan with a tire iron. The villagers, the Valira family, are wary and unhelpful, and they keep Joyce inside the great house while Alan searches for help. Alan drives back toward the nearest town, where he meets a doctor who suggests Joyce may be suffering from a serious mental condition. Alan returns to the village determined to reach his wife, but he finds the Valira men blocking his path. This episode of Escape, the CBS radio drama series, first aired on July 1, 1954, and is based on a story by Kathleen Hight.

Listen for: The doctor's explanation of Joyce's condition and the wall of silent villagers around the house
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
