What happens

Corporal Robert Lacey and Private Tabori are caught behind Japanese lines on Okinawa in 1945 after a night patrol. Lacey has long talked of a hidden tropical island full of friendly giants and beautiful women, and when they meet a fair-skinned young woman named Taki, he becomes convinced his dream is real. Taki leads the two marines by canoe toward her home island, and Lacey grows increasingly fixated on what they find there while Tabori grows suspicious and uneasy. The story is an episode of the radio series Escape, with the original air date of March 8, 1953, adapted by Millard Kaufman.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
