What happens

Captain Blee and his crew sail a rusty tramp steamer, the Lace Wing, out of Liverpool, but two men, Gaudy and Winkle Jones, have signed on with a plan to take the ship and its cargo of scrap. Jennings, a hired hand, is caught up in the scheme as the ship sails far off course. Tensions rise among the men, and the plotters begin to struggle over the captain's fate and over the loyalty of the crew. The story of the Lace Wing unfolds in the first half of this Escape radio drama, broadcast on CBS on March 1, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
