What happens

In 1950, a parliamentary naval committee reconsiders the case of Commander Edward Bradman, a Royal Navy officer convicted of treason a decade earlier. Chairman Mr. Ordway pushes for the reversal, while Admiral Hood objects, and Bradman's son is brought forward to testify. A letter from the ailing commander is read aloud, recounting his command of the destroyer Firebrand during the early months of the First World War. On a night off the Belgian coast in October 1914, the crew discover that their whiskey cases contain Cameron Highlander uniforms, and Bradman leads a landing party ashore after a Morse signal from the dunes. Escape is a half-hour radio anthology series, and this episode was first broadcast on February 28, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
