What happens
Commander Edward Bradman, a Royal Navy officer, is found guilty of treason and disgraced after the First World War. Ten years later, a parliamentary committee reopens his case, hearing from his young son and then from a letter and a witness. Escape is the series name, and this episode aired on February 28, 1950. The story follows Bradman's account of his destroyer's night landing on the Flanders coast in October 1914, where he and his crew respond to a midshipman's signal and help stall a German advance. The committee weighs the evidence as the question of his honor is decided.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
