What happens
Eddie Gillespie, a would-be hotel developer, buys a lush Caribbean island with money from his backer Brewer and plans to turn it into a resort. He hires local workers, clears the jungle, and invents a buried pirate treasure gimmick to draw tourists. He also finds Clive, a bearded beachcomber who lives on the island and watches him from the hill. When Brewer's partner Amanda arrives and reveals that real stolen jewels are hidden on the island, the situation begins to turn against Eddie. Escape, the 1950 radio drama, is broadcast on January 24, 1950, starring Frank Lovejoy as Eddie, John Hoy as Clive, and Mary Lansing as Amanda.
