What happens
Eddie Gillespie develops a remote Caribbean island into a resort, aided by his backer Brewer and Brewer's companion Amanda. Eddie plans to bury pirate treasure as a tourist attraction, but he soon learns that Brewer has hidden a fortune in stolen jewels on the island. Clive, the reclusive beachcomber who lives there, watches the hotel's progress with growing amusement and mounting menace. Eddie's ambitions and his relationship with Amanda begin to unravel as the treasure becomes the center of rivalries. John and Gwen Bagney wrote this episode of the Escape series, which first aired on January 24, 1950, with Frank Lovejoy starring as Eddie.
