What happens

Joe Harriman, a detective for the Magnum Insurance Company, accompanies widow Mrs. Arthur Bankner on a buying trip to India, where she purchases the Star of Kilimanjaro emerald from the dealer Sam Dahl for $150,000. Afterward, Joe repeatedly notices an attractive American woman, Marion Ryder, following them through the same places. On the train toward Calcutta, Joe becomes involved with Marion while the jewel and Mrs. Bankner remain a concern. This episode of the Escape series, originally broadcast on December 20, 1949, is adapted from Richard Sale's story and stars Frank Lovejoy as Joe and Joan Banks as Marion.

India, a hotel in Rajahore, and a train bound for Calcutta

Characters: Joe Harriman, Mrs. Arthur Bankner, Marion Ryder, Sam Dahl, Rafferty

Listen for: Joe's conversations with Marion and Mrs. Bankner on the train, and the mention of a gray button

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
