What happens

Colby, a man who lives by his wits, agrees to smuggle an ancient Peruvian relic out of Chile for the archaeologist Senor Varian, who is wheelchair-bound. Aboard the boat to Peru he meets Analouce, Varian's nurse, and a fellow passenger named Jefferson. When Varian is found dead in his cabin, Colby finds himself caught between the relic's secret, the nurse's growing demands, and a sudden interest in the Inca treasure the package points toward. The episode is the eighty-fourth of the Escape series, and it is adapted from David Dodge's novel Plunder of the Sun, with Paul Frees as Colby. Colby's search for the gold takes him into the mountains and across Lake Titicaca.

Chile and Peru, including the port of Valparaiso, the city of Cusco, the Inca ruins in the high Andes, and Lake Titicaca

Listen for: The clues hidden in the Inca message cord and manuscript, and how Colby works out who really sent Analouce to steal the package

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
