What happens
Paul Vanir, an American detective, travels to a rubber plantation on the coast of Borneo to arrest Jerome Steeks, who is accused of murdering his wife in San Francisco. Steeks is believed to be living under a false name among three American foremen, Pral, Doran and Wilmerding, but Vanir has never seen him and has no photograph to work from. The story is based on L.G. Blochman's tale Red Wine, and the episode is from the radio series Escape, first broadcast on August 11, 1949. Vanir finds the men evasive and the area full of danger, with a knife thrown at his room and a snake left inside. Each man seems to fit parts of the description, and the search for the killer grows tense.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
