What happens

Leiningen, a stubborn plantation owner on the Amazon, refuses to flee when a District Commissioner warns him that a vast army of ants is heading toward his estate. Leiningen trusts his intelligence and his defenses, including a water-filled ditch and a dam, and the Commissioner watches with growing unease. This episode of Escape, broadcast on August 4, 1949, is adapted from Carl Stevenson's story and stars Tudor Owen as Leiningen and Gerald Moore as the Commissioner. As the ants advance, Leiningen's defenses are tested in a battle of wits and endurance.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
