What happens
Jafe Morner, a bitter and ignorant man, grows jealous and resentful of Snake Doctor, a recluse who makes his living rendering cottonmouth snake fat into oil and who seems to have hoarded savings. Jafe's son Finney accompanies him on a trip to the snake doctor's cabin, where Jafe comes to suspect that money is hidden in a crevice by the fireplace. The story follows Jafe's scheming as he sets his plans in motion along Cassier Creek, where the venomous snakes are thick. The transcript ends partway through the episode, before the full course of events is shown.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
