What happens
Paul Venier, an American investigator, arrives at a rubber plantation outpost in Borneo to arrest Jerome Steeks, a man wanted in San Francisco for murdering his wife. Steeks is hiding among three American men there, and Venier does not know which one he is. Controller Kurt receives him at a bungalow at the edge of the jungle, and the three men are introduced at dinner. Venier notices that one of the men has a refined taste for wine and fine food, a clue that may point to Steeks. Strange incidents follow, including a knife thrown through his room and a snake left on the floor. Escape is a half-hour radio drama series, and this episode is an adaptation of L.G. Blochman's story Red Wine, first broadcast on 1949-02-26 starring Jeff Chandler.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
