What happens
District commissioner warns plantation owner Leiningen that a vast army of ants is advancing toward his plantation in the Amazon jungle. Leiningen, confident in his intelligence, refuses to leave and instead prepares elaborate defenses, including water-filled ditches and a dam. His workers, who have built the plantation over three years, choose to stay and fight with him. The commissioner, drawn to Leiningen's unyielding confidence, returns to the plantation as the ants reach the ditches and begin a series of tactical attacks. This is an episode of the Escape series, originally broadcast on May 23, 1948, starring Bill Conrad and Jane Avello.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
