What happens

Captain Arad, a Salem sea captain bored with three years of trading voyages, sets out with his young mate Poe and his first mate Michael O'Kane on a scheme to win a fortune in the Borneo islands. Arad persuades the Spanish Captain General Don Narciso to back an expedition against the pirate stronghold of Sharif, whose headquarters lie at the mouth of a river guarded by the poisonous Upas tree. The plan meets trouble when a storm scatters the fleet and a mysterious passenger, Donna Delphina, appears aboard. This episode of Escape aired on March 21, 1948. The story is part of the series' first part and does not cover its ending.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
