What happens

Captain Airard, a Salem trader sailing the China Seas, plots with his crew to seize a fortune in birds' nests, gold and antimony from Miss Fortune's Isle off Borneo. He persuades the Spanish Captain General of Zamboanga to back the venture, and the crew sails out of Manila. Captain Airard and his men face a storm and a pirate attack, and the island's dyak headhunters and the legend of the Upas tree threaten them at every turn. Young Po and Michael O'Kane accompany him, and Don Narciso Sosa's wife, Delphina, stows away aboard the junk. The episode is a 1948 broadcast of the Escape series, starring Paul Frees as Captain Airard.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
