What happens
Arthur Llewellyn, a traveler returning to London from a Welsh vacation, leaves his train at a remote station and walks up to the village of Molten. The village seems centuries old, its people silent and watchful, and its innkeeper greets him as though he had been there before. Strange music drifts up from a sunken plain, and a young woman named Ilse insists that he remembers her. Escape is the radio drama series, and this episode, Ancient Sorceries, was first broadcast on February 21, 1948. Adapted from the story by Algernon Blackwood, the episode features Paul Frees and K. Brinker, and William Conrad plays the doctor.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
