What happens
In 1429 Paris, Denny de Boley, a young man lost in the dark streets while fleeing English soldiers, slips through an unlocked door and finds himself inside the house of the Sire de Maletroits. The Sire accuses him of an improper visit to the house and forces him to face a choice. Denny is pressed to marry the Sire's niece, Blanche, or be hanged from the window. Escape presents the Robert Louis Stevenson tale The Sire de Maletroit's Door, a 1947 episode of the series. Elliot Lewis plays Denny, Peggy Weber plays Blanche, and Ramsay Hill plays the Sire.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
