What happens
Lieutenant Duke and Lieutenant Hill, two American OSS agents, parachute into occupied France to organize a resistance maquis and block German roads and railways before the Allied landing in Normandy. Working with the local patriot Alsene, they recruit a small band of French volunteers in the forest camp. When German troops suddenly approach the camp, the Americans must order a retreat. Duke grows suspicious of a leak in the group's security as members are killed, and he starts to question Alsene's young sweetheart, Renee. The episode is the second of the Escape series, which dramatized wartime intrigue in occupied Europe, and its original air date was July 14, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
