What happens
Two adventurers, Daniel Dravitt and Peachy Carnehan, leave British India determined to become kings in Kafiristan, a remote mountain region. Their plan relies on a disguise, a shipment of rifles, and a bold contract to abstain from liquor and women until they rule. In the Escape series, the episode first aired on July 7, 1947, on CBS, based on Rudyard Kipling's story and featuring Raymond Lawrence as Peachy. The two men reach the hills, win over a tribe of villagers, and are hailed as gods. The transcript covers only the opening portion of the story, so the outcome is not described here.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
