What happens
Duffy's Tavern is a neighborhood bar run by Archie, who is thrown into a dispute when the owner Duffy decides to stop extending credit and collect every outstanding IOU. The customers' debts are sorted into piles, and Archie's pal Finnegan leans on the tavern's unpaid tabs. Archie soon hears about Jay Everett Poindexter, a millionaire said to pose as a bum and hand out money to people who help others, and he decides to lure bums to the tavern to catch the man. The tavern is a Duffy's Tavern radio episode from the OTRR Duffy's Tavern singles series, first broadcast on April 13, 1949, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop among the cast.

Listen for: Archie's scheme to lure the bums to the tavern and the arrival of Jay Everett Poindexter
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
