What happens
Archie, the regular at Duffy's Tavern, is eager to impress visiting film star Susan Hayward, who has come to the tavern alongside big game hunter Frank Buck. Duffy, who runs the bar, bickers with Archie and with the waiter Finnegan about marriage, pay, and animals, while Miss Duffy sets her sights on Buck. Archie tries to pass himself off as an adventurer, telling tall tales about jungle encounters and even bringing out a supposed African pigman to prove his claims. The evening fills with comic quarrels and exaggerations as the guests arrive and mingle in the tavern. This episode is from the Duffy's Tavern series, aired March 23, 1943, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
