What happens
Duffy's Tavern is a comedy series in which the tavern's owner Archie is missing and the staff try to find him. Guest stars Jimmy Durante and Ann Sothern visit the tavern, and Archie is discovered locked in his room over unpaid rent. Meanwhile the tavern crew rehearses a mystery play Archie has written, featuring Durante as a bumbling detective called Sherlock Durrani. The original broadcast aired on March 30, 1949, with Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop among the regular cast.
