What happens
Archie, the manager of Duffy's Tavern, is eagerly awaiting a visit from the film star Veronica Lake, while Duffy frets about the promised big-name singer. Archie becomes convinced that Veronica's admiration could make the tavern's singer famous, so he asks her to swoon over him. The Duffy's Tavern series, featuring Ed Gardner, Shirley Booth, Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop, is heard here in a December 1950 broadcast. The story is light comedy built on Archie's schemes and the tavern's routine chaos.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
