What happens
Archie, the manager of Duffy's Tavern, is trying to get Sonny Tufts to take Miss Duffy to a dance. Archie has been fooled by a phony publishing company that asked him for money to publish his western song, and he is under pressure from Miss Duffy after she threatens to tell her father. Sonny Tufts arrives at the tavern and Archie tries to impress him with his supposed high social standing. The story is told through the banter of the tavern's regulars, with Finnegan and Eddie the waiter adding to the commotion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
