What happens
Archie, the manager of Duffy's Tavern, learns that his friend Eddie has been courting a woman named Barbara Maxwell by mail, and he hopes she will arrive at the tavern soon. Meanwhile, the English actor Rex Harrison visits the tavern as a guest, and Archie and Eddie scheme to make the place seem more intellectual. Harrison is cordial to the regulars, while Archie tries to impress Barbara, who has her own surprises in store. The Duffy's Tavern series, a comedy, aired on the radio in 1948 with Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth among the cast.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
