What happens
Duffy's Tavern is a comedy series, and this episode, broadcast on 1943-10-12 on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC, stars Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth. Archie, the wisecracking manager, and Eddie, the tavern's waiter, worry that business is falling off, with rival Grogan across the street drawing crowds. Archie decides the tavern needs showmanship and hires Orson Welles, who arrives as a guest and is soon pressed into a stage show. Archie, Miss Duffy and Johnny Johnson all deal with the newly married magician's arrival, and the evening turns into a loud run of magic tricks at the tavern.
