What happens
At Duffy's Tavern, Archie hears that columnist Louella Parsons is coming in, and he hopes she will print gossip about his new song, Archie's Little Love Song. Duffy, Eddie and Miss Duffy trade jokes about Hollywood and about Archie's ambitions as a songwriter. Archie tries to persuade Louella to keep quiet about the song, then tricks her into a broadcast from the tavern, where she reads a mock column about local characters while Archie fills in the rest. The episode is a comedy built on the tavern's regulars and their schemes, and it is presented as a guest appearance by Louella Parsons, with Ed Gardner starring as Archie. Original air date November 6, 1946.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
