What happens
Ed Gardner's Archie and Eddie Green run Duffy's Tavern while Duffy is away, and the regulars swap plans for Christmas, which is only weeks off. Eddie has promised his girlfriend Sonya Jones a mink coat he cannot afford, and Finnegan frets about a visit from Santa Claus. Shirley Booth's Miss Duffy wants a husband, and the swindler Dave Hossinger returns with a suspiciously cheap stock of Christmas gifts. Harmonica virtuoso Larry Adler is booked as the special guest, and Archie pushes him toward a sale. The episode is a 1944 broadcast of the Duffy's Tavern series, first aired on CBS, NBC Blue and NBC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
