What happens
Archie, the manager of Duffy's Tavern, is persuaded by Ida Lupino to adapt a book written by Eddie, the tavern's waiter, into a movie. Their working relationship is light and comic, with Archie pitching the story and Ida discussing its romantic plot and how it should be staged. Archie and Ida both trade quips about the tavern's decor and about Ida's English heritage, and the tavern regulars chime in along the way. The broadcast features a sketch in which Archie and Ida act out a scene from Eddie's book about a wealthy lover. The episode is from the Duffy's Tavern series, originally aired on October 26, 1943, with Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
