What happens
Duffy's Tavern proprietor Archie receives a letter from the Acme Cyclopedia company announcing that he has been selected as Genius of the Week. Eddie, the tavern's bartender, is skeptical, and a visitor claiming to be a representative quizzes Archie with trick questions while pressing him to pay forty-nine dollars for the award. Archie tries to scrape together the money as the questioning continues. The episode is part of the OTRR Duffy's Tavern Singles series, originally aired June 22, 1949, and stars Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth, with Charlie Cantor and Florence Halop.
