What happens
Archie, the manager of Duffy's Tavern, is jilted by his fiancée Peaches and swears off women, then falls for a young woman named Mary Ann who comes into the tavern looking for a man named Paul Popapopelus. Archie claims to be 24 to impress her, and Miss Duffy teases him about his age. When a draft notice arrives for him, Archie tries to prove he is too old for the army, first by calling his old doctor and then by visiting the draft board, where his age becomes the central problem. The episode is part of the OTRR Duffy's Tavern Singles series, originally broadcast on February 2, 1951, with Ed Gardner and Shirley Booth in the cast.

Listen for: Archie's shifting claims about his age and the running joke about the draft notices.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
