The long reels, played whole
with Ricky Voltage
No sign-up · one tap. It plays right here, around the clock.
Standalone channel One series, every episode in the order it first aired. Part of Don't Touch That Dial, where all the series play mixed.

The long reels: 1950s classroom films, drive-in and grindhouse trailer reels and vintage commercial marathons, played whole with old-school commercial breaks. A Stupid Potato channel.
Don't Touch That Dial: Double Feature is a free online channel of long-form vintage film and TV audio from Stupid Potato: 1950s classroom films, drive-in and grindhouse trailer reels and vintage commercial marathons, played whole with old-school commercial breaks. It is the long-reel sister of Don't Touch That Dial, the retro TV station hosted by Ricky Voltage. Listen free online, live 24 hours a day, with no account and no app.
Classroom films were a fixture of American schools from the 1940s into the 1970s. Companies like Coronet Instructional Films turned out short "social guidance" films on manners, dating, hygiene and safety, so earnest that they now play as unintentional comedy. Their opposite number was the drive-in trailer reel: breathless announcers selling monsters, bikers and creature features a minute or two at a time. Grindhouse trailer compilations from the late 1960s and 70s string these together end to end, and Double Feature plays them as one long show.
Because everything here runs long, it works as background for a slow evening, a road trip or a work shift, the way a late-night movie marathon used to. Expect the films as they were made, period attitudes and all. It is a live stream only. For short commercials, TV themes, Ricky Voltage's patter and a daily podcast, switch to the main channel, Don't Touch That Dial.
