What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads the funny pages aloud to young listeners, starting with a riddle from Mrs. Penny about why a dog's tail is like the center of a tree. He then reads Beetle Bailey, in which a sergeant leads his squad off the parade ground, and continues with Peter Pan, where Captain Hook plots to capture Tinker Bell. Next comes Donald Duck, in which a burglar takes Donald's nephews' records, followed by Flash Gordon on the moon, Dick's adventure in early Texas with Bowie, Rusty Riley on the Dually farm, Dagwood and Blondie, and Roy Rogers. Each strip ends on a cliffhanger, and the reader promises to return next week.

Listen for: The reader's cliffhanger endings for each strip, and the answer to Mrs. Penny's riddle about the dog's tail.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
