What happens

The Comic Weekly Man, a jolly radio host, reads the funny pages aloud to his listeners, with the regular young companion Miss Honey beside him. He reads a run of comic strips, including Beetle Bailey, where a sergeant at an army camp struggles with his soldiers and a falling shoe. The show then moves on to Peter Pan, where Wendy and the boys are taken captive by pirates and Captain Hook leaves a package for Peter. Roy Rogers is next, with the cowboy and Katie facing the farmers who hold them at gunpoint. The episode also includes Donald Duck, Flash Gordon, Blondie, Dick's Adventures set in early Texas, and Rusty Riley, which the host leaves on a cliffhanger. Each strip ends with a promise to continue next week.

A radio program reading comic strips aloud, with the strips set at an army camp, Neverland, a Western ranch, a duck's house, outer space, Texas in the 1830s, and the town of Honey Hollow.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Miss Honey, Sergeant, Beetle Bailey, Wendy, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Roy Rogers

Listen for: The host's cliffhangers at the end of each strip, and the Texan rising against the Mexican soldiers in Dick's Adventures.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
