What happens

The Comic Weekly Man, a jolly host, reads the comic strips from Puck to his young listeners, along with his companion Miss Honey. Beetle Bailey and Carrot, peeling potatoes on kitchen duty, play at being officers. Donald Duck and his nephews oversleep on a duck hunt. Peter Pan and Captain Hook struggle over a crocodile. Flash Gordon outwits space pirates on the moon. Dick and Jim Bowie escape Mexican soldiers in old Texas. Dagwood and Herb show off on bicycles. Roy Rogers fights cattlemen who blame a farmer for their troubles. Rusty Riley takes a farm job where the people seem to be hiding something. Each strip ends on a cliffhanger, and the host promises more next week.

A radio program hosted in a living room, presenting comic strips from the pages of Puck, including settings on a farm, a kitchen, a lake, Neverland, the moon, old Texas, a city street and the American frontier.

Characters: Comic Weekly Man, Miss Honey, Beetle Bailey, Carrot, Donald Duck, Dewey, Peter Pan, Captain Hook

Listen for: The host's cheerful introductions and the cliffhangers that close each comic strip, including Rusty Riley's suspicion about the people on the farm.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
