What happens

The Comic Weekly Man, a jolly radio host, reads the funnies from Puck the Comic Weekly to his young listeners, joined by a friend named Miss Honey. They follow several comic strips in turn. Beetle Bailey tries to retrieve a ball from a rain trough and causes chaos at the staff office. In Peter Pan, Wendy and Peter fly to Mermaid Lagoon and learn that Captain Hook has captured Tiger Lily. Dagwood, a referee for his son's basketball game, has his whistle taken by a mailman and ends up with it lodged in his throat. Flash Gordon is left stranded on the moon after Mark and Dr. Stella plot his death. Other strips include Dick's Adventure, Rusty Riley, Roy Rogers and Donald Duck. Each segment ends on a cliffhanger, and the host promises to return the following week.

A radio show reading the comic pages of Puck the Comic Weekly, with the strips set in a barracks, Neverland, a suburban neighborhood, the moon, 1835 Texas and a carnival.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
