What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies from Puck the Comic Weekly to a young listener, Miss Honey. He first mentions a newspaper picture of the gown and crown planned for Queen Elizabeth's coronation. Then he reads a Beetle Bailey strip in which Beetle is mistaken for a comedian at a USO show. Next comes a Peter Pan strip in which John and the Darling boys are captured by Indians, and Tiger Lily is taken by Captain Hook. The reading continues with Donald Duck at a restaurant, Roy Rogers pursuing outlaws, Dagwood and a pushy salesman, Dick's dream of the Alamo, Rusty Riley at a carnival card game, and Flash Gordon on the moon.

A radio program in which the Comic Weekly Man reads comic strips aloud, with segments set at a USO theatre, Neverland, a restaurant, the American West, a Mexican mission, a carnival, and the moon.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
