What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads aloud from the funny pages of Puck the Comic Weekly, sharing the strips with two young listeners. Hopalong Cassidy's gang plans an attack on Calico's outlaw town of Sulphur City, but Calico's men learn of it and corner Hoppy in a freight office. Prince Valiant and his friends ride through war-torn country and find a monastery in the mountains. Dick is with Washington's army at Christmas in 1776, and Rusty Riley catches Squarebug and Captain Cloon. Blondie and Dagwood go to the movies, Roy Rogers meets a convict, and Flash Gordon escapes from an underground whirlpool. The episode aired on 11 February 1951 and ends with the Comic Weekly Man leaving until next week.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
