What happens
The Comic Weekly Man reads funny pages aloud to children, opening with a riddle about a pig and a quiz about George Washington. He then presents several comic strips in turn. Hopalong Cassidy's men gather at Sulphur City, where Hoppy finds a secret tunnel beneath the hotel and confronts Calico. Prince Val seeks a pass through the Alps and is guided to a monastery. Uncle Remus tells a Brer Rabbit tale about spring fever, and Dagwood Bumstead mistakes a bottle of dog medicine for vitamins. Roy Rogers pursues a convict who has taken Dangerfield's wagon, and Flash Gordon escapes the Wizard's underground kingdom. Dick's dream carries him to Lafayette's arrival in America, and Rusty Riley helps trap smugglers. The segment ends before the stories conclude.
Sulphur City, the Alps, Brer Rabbit's swamp, the Dagwood household, Saddle Beauty, Flash Gordon's underground kingdom, colonial America, and a seaside village.

Listen for: The storylines continue next week, so the segment ends without resolving the cliffhangers.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
