What happens

The Comic Weekly Man reads the funnies to a little girl named Honey, drawn from the American Weekly. The first comic is The Sword and the Rose. Charles Brandon, imprisoned in the Tower of London, is stabbed by assassins hired by the Duke of Buckingham and thrown into the Thames. Months later, his friend Sir Edwin Casketon brings the Duke a message from King Henry, and the Duke travels to Paris posing as the King's ambassador to free Princess Mary. The story is still unfolding when the reading ends.

Listen for: Casketon's discovery of the note from Brandon, and the Duke's bluff in Paris

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
